Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is an evidence-based behavioral approach designed to increase psychological flexibility — the capacity to stay present, open to internal experience and engage in behaviors that serve personally meaningful values.

Join our live webinar on Oct. 22, 2026, from 1-2 p.m. ET, where we’ll explore how to recognize psychological inflexibility, identify processes that may be maintaining client difficulties and select practical ACT interventions that can be integrated into psychotherapy across a range of concerns.

This past Sunday, September 20, Chi Sigma Iota (CSI) helped lead a volunteer opportunity at the Fargo Area Out of the Darkness Walk. 💙

We are grateful to our MSUM Counseling master’s students who gave their time to support such a meaningful event. Opportunities like this allow our students to step outside the classroom, connect with our community, and support an important cause while growing together as future counseling professionals.

Thank you to everyone who participated, volunteered, and helped make the day so impactful. We are proud to see our counseling students showing up for one another and for our community!

Today is ***dePreventionDay. If you or someone you know are struggling, remember that you’re not alone and there are resources available to help you.

Sometimes the hardest thing to say out loud is "I'm not okay."

Maybe it's the teenager who seems fine at school but goes quiet at home. The parent who's smiling in every photo but running on empty. The friend who says "I'm just tired" one too many times. So often, the people carrying the heaviest things are the ones who look like they're carrying nothing at all.

September is Su***de Prevention Awareness Month, and it's a reminder that we don't have to wait for someone to ask for help before we offer it. A simple "How are you, really?" can open a door. Listening without judgment can make someone feel less alone.

If you or someone you know is struggling, the 988 Su***de & Crisis Lifeline is available 24/7. Call or text 988 to reach a trained counselor, any time, day or night. You are not alone, and help is real.

Let's keep checking in on each other, this month and always. 💜💚
