🎶✨ If you missed this one… you definitely missed out! 👀

On Saturday, October 10, we turned up the music and brought our community together for Moorpark College Serenades: The Premiere! 💙💛

From the incredible performances by Lynnzee, Wax Owls, and Kabwasa to the energy on the Great Lawn, our very first concert at The Stage at Moorpark College was one for the books! 🎤🎸

A HUGE thank you to our friends at Sofar Sounds Los Angeles, our amazing volunteers, campus partners, and everyone who came out to help us make history!

What better way to kick off 60 years of Moorpark College than with live music, good vibes, and new memories?

And trust us… this is just the beginning! 😉🎶

Here’s a recap of our Student Day of Service, which was a wonderful success!

Together, our students packed more than 100 care packages for service members overseas and wrote over 200 heartfelt notes thanking them for their service and dedication to protecting our freedoms.

As part of the day, participants also took part in a 1.13-mile 9/11 Walking Tour through campus to commemorate the first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice on September 11, 2001. The walk gave our community an opportunity to reflect, remember, and honor their courage and service.

Couldn’t join us for the 9/11 Memorial Walk? The self-guided walk will remain available through the end of November, so you can participate at your own pace. Visit the 60th Anniversary link in our bio to access the AllTrails route directly from your phone. Please check Zoo hours before your visit.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who volunteered their time, helped make this event meaningful, and honored those we remember through acts of service. ❤️🤍💙

Show up. Give back. Remember. 🇺🇸

This year marks the 25th anniversary of 9/11, and Moorpark College & Moorpark College Foundation are coming together to honor those we lost by carrying forward the spirit of service, compassion, and unity that followed. 🫱🏽‍🫲🏼

Join us Wednesday, Sept. 16 for our Student Day of Service:

📦 10 a.m. — Pack care packages + write letters for active-duty U.S. military personnel deployed overseas through For The Troops

🤍 11 a.m. — Join our 1.13-mile Memorial Walk — approximately 2,200 steps — symbolizing the climb first responders made on 9/11 as they rushed toward danger to save others, many making the ultimate sacrifice. Along the route, we’ll remember the lives lost and reflect on the courage, selflessness, and unity shown that day.

We’re still looking for student & community volunteers! Bring a friend, give back, and help us turn remembrance into action.

Sign up through the link in our bio on the 60th Anniversary website under upcoming events.
