Porter Award of Achievement by the NJ Shade Tree Federation! This recognition celebrates Brian’s exceptional dedication to tree management, arboriculture, and urban forestry. With a career spanning roles from Peace Corps service in Mexico to Assistant Regional Forester for NJ, Brian embodies leadership, education, and unwavering commitment to the tree industry. WVU Forestry professors Dr. Greg Dahl and Dr. Dave McGill and graduate student Bipana Bhusal pose with the rest of the work crew from First Energy corporation in this collaborative research and demonstration project that is exploring the rate of biochar on the growth of pollinator species. This demonstration site is at the Little Indian Creek wildlife management area just outside of Morgantown and is supported by the West Virginia Department of natural resources. The work crew is standing in one of the 40 tons-biochar per acre treatment plots.
