Sharing is caring! ππππ The School of Mathematical and Data Sciences (SMDS) at WVU will host its first Symposium on April 27β28, 2026. They would greatly appreciate if the HS ACCESS students attended.
The symposium will feature:
* Faculty and graduate student presentations
* Undergraduate capstone presentations showcasing student work in mathematics, statistics, and data science
* A capstone poster session and reception
This event is a wonderful opportunity for students to see what studying mathematics, statistics, and data science looks like beyond the classroom, engage with current projects, and connect with faculty and WVU students. It is also a great way for prospective students, including high school students, to explore academic pathways and career possibilities in these fields.
As part of the symposium, we will also host a community screening of the documentary Counted Out on Tuesday, April 28, at 5:45 PM in the Gluck Theater.
Attached is the full symposium schedule and the flyer for the film screening. The SMDS would be grateful if everyone can help advertise these events and encourage attendance.
For those planning to attend the screening, please RSVP here:

Thank you all for your support, and the SMDS hopes to see many of the students there! π
