During 2025 alone, our students and faculty impacted more than 70,000 community members across 19 counties, providing health education, screenings and support services that addressed some of the state’s most pressing health concerns. 💛💙

Together, these service initiatives produced an estimated $121,941 in total impact value.

WVU Tech, home of our Beckley Campus, recently had a record for student volunteers during the Day of Service, thanks to our nursing students! 👏

During the event, volunteers planted flowers and added mulch, cleaned building signs, scraped and repainted bike racks and handrails, power washed retaining walls, and more.

Junior nursing students on our Bridgeport Campus recently learned disengagement strategies while attending orientation with one of our clinical partners, Highland Hospital. 🏥

Last month, Dr. Roger Carpenter, Dr. Tina Antill Keener and Wendy Holdren successfully completed the Pittsburgh Half Marathon! The three also participated last year in the Pittsburgh Marathon Relay along with several other faculty and staff members. Great work! 👟

Exploring Nursing Across the Globe! ✈️

Several of our students and faculty traveled May 18-25 for a study abroad experience — "Spain: The Art of Healthcare in Barcelona & Valencia." During the trip, they had the opportunity to:

🔎 Explore various historical and cultural venues
🩺 Visit the University of Barcelona’s School of Nursing
🎨 See the art of famous Spanish artists
🐟 Learn about the Mediterranean diet
👩‍🍳 Participate in a cooking class
