Black History Month 2026

02/01/2026

A century ago, Black history was given a week. Fifty years ago, it became a month. Today, it lives in our voices, our classrooms, our communities, and our commitment to keep telling the truth.

As we celebrate 100 years of Black History Week and 50 years of Black History Month, hear from faculty, staff, students, and community leaders on what this legacy means to them, because Black history isn’t just something we remember, it’s something we carry forward.

Happy Black History Month Mountaineers! ✊🏾
