Our students had a great time at the 11th annual Pharmaceutical Sciences Research Symposium (PSRS) this week. The PSRS is a regional conference between West Virginia University, University of Pittsburgh, and Duquesne University AAPS student chapters and this year it was hosted by Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA.

Pushkar Saralkar was awarded second place for his oral presentation titled, “Targeting mitochondrial protein mitoNEET with novel ligand NL-1 improves cell survival following ischemia reperfusion injury.”

Nicole Mihalik also presented her talk titled “Synthesis and characterization of PLGA/PEG-PLGA nanoparticles for the prolonged release of Granulocyte-Macrophage Colony-Stimulating Factor in the breast tumor microenvironment,” and she was awarded second place in the pharmaceutics poster category.

Thank you Duquesne AAPS and congrats to all the awardees!

The 11th annual Pharmaceutical Sciences Research Symposium is officially set for Friday, January 17, 2020 at the Duquesne University Power Center Ballroom in Pittsburgh, PA.

Abstract deadline for poster presentation is January 10, 2020. Abstract deadline for oral presentation consideration is January 3, 2020, notification will occur by January 10, 2020.

Abstracts can be submitted by clicking the link below. Categories are: Pharmacology, Pharmaceutics, Medicinal Chemistry, and Pharmacy Administration.
