NASA West Virginia Space Grant Consortium It is dedicated to building research infrastructure and promoting Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) education in West Virginia.

We are dedicated to building research infrastructure and the promotion of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) in West Virginia through NASA-supported opportunities. The West Virginia Space Grant Consortium (WVSGC) is a NASA sponsored organization consisting of 12 West Virginia academic institutions and 8 corporate and scientific partners. WVSGC’s primary focus is on research,

collaborations with high-technology industries, student fellowships as well as K-12 and public outreach programs.

NASA WV Space Grant Consortium was proud to have supported JAMS – Team A from John Adams Middle School, Bot Squad-Bot Busters from Cedar Grove Elementary, and High Voltage- High Voltage Robotics at the 2026 VEX Robotics World Championship in St. Louis.

Straley Elementary’s Giggle Bots and Mercer Elementary’s Da Jellyfish 2.0 traveled to St. Louis, Missouri to compete against teams from around the world in exciting robotics challenges.

NASA WV Space Grant Consortium was proud to sponsor the ROBOTigers and support their journey to the VEX IQ Robotics World Championship! 🤖

Through determination, teamwork, and a commitment to improving their performance, they pushed their scores higher and achieved incredible results on the world stage!

Our very own ROBOTigers wrapped up their journey at the VEX IQ Robotics World Championship in St. Louis with an outstanding performance—finishing in the **Top 50 and ranking 37th overall**! 🌎🏆

They didn’t just compete—they **leveled up**, completely surpassing their average score from the state competition. Even more impressive, their average ranked higher than all other West Virginia teams who attended the middle school division! 💪📈

We are beyond proud of these students and everything they accomplished on the world stage. Their hard work, dedication, and teamwork truly paid off! 🧡💙

NASA WV Space Grant Consortium is incredibly proud of these Marshall County, WV robotics teams!

It was an honor to support them on their journey to the 2026 VEX Robotics World Championship in St. Louis, and they made it count.
Sherrard Middle School teams delivered an incredible showing, with three non-losing records, a 33rd place finish, and two World Championship trophies—now holding 3 of the 4 ever earned by Marshall County teams.

🏆 Lil’ George – Energy Award
🏆 Cinnamon Toast Crunchers – Innovate Award (one of the highest honors ever for a WV middle school team)

And history didn’t stop there…

🏆 John Marshall High School’s “George Drinks Water” earned the Design Award in the Math Division - the highest award ever achieved by a West Virginia team at the VEX Robotics World Championship.
