The Statler College offers degrees at the Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctoral levels with all undergraduate engineering programs accredited by ABET. WVU Statler College graduate Jason Gibson turned curiosity, research and a willingness to explore new paths into national recognition on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list.

What began as an interest in aerospace engineering grew into interdisciplinary research, computational materials science and the launch of Quantum Formatics, a company built on the work he first explored as a student.

Congratulations to Avishek Choudhury, assistant professor in the WVU Statler College Department of Industrial and Management Systems Engineering, on receiving the National Science Foundation’s prestigious CAREER award.

Choudhury’s research focuses on trust in artificial intelligence, particularly how health care providers interpret and respond to AI tools when making decisions about patient care. His work will help support safer, more reliable AI-assisted decision-making in clinical settings.

Summer camps are officially underway at WVU Statler College! ☀️

This week, we welcomed campers for Elementary Engineering Challenge Camp and Experience Mining Engineering Camp, giving students the chance to explore engineering, mining and problem-solving through fun, interactive experiences.

Elementary campers built simple circuits, worked with 3D-printed vehicles and learned how soap bubbles can help engineers mine valuable minerals. Mining campers toured an active surface mine, experienced underground mining through virtual reality and learned how valuable minerals are located, extracted and processed.

We loved seeing so much curiosity, creativity and excitement on campus this week. A huge thank you to our campers, instructors and everyone who helped make the first week of camps such a success!

A soft, “squishy” robotic hand developed by a team of roboticists, including WVU Statler College researcher Anand Mishra, could change the way delicate fruits like strawberries are harvested.

Designed with flexible fingers and built-in sensors, the gripper can gently inspect and pick fruit while helping reduce bruising, spoilage and food waste.
