Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources is dedicated to the development of engineering practice, science and research. The Statler College offers degrees at the Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctoral levels with all undergraduate engineering programs accredited by ABET. The Statler College encompasses three primary buildings that provide students a great learning experience in the classroom, laboratory, and research.

AI can sound confident, but confidence doesn’t always mean accuracy.

Statler College computer science researcher Anthony Sicilia is working to help artificial intelligence better recognize uncertainty and communicate when it doesn’t have enough evidence to support an answer.

Margaret Bennewitz, associate professor of biomedical engineering, is leading a nearly $2.2 million National Cancer Institute-funded study focused on improving MRI contrast agents for breast cancer detection.

The research aims to more precisely identify tumor cells, helping reduce unnecessary tissue removal and improve outcomes for patients.

Building toward the future of steel construction.

WVU civil engineering doctoral student Sahabeddin Rifai is advancing FastFloor, a modular all-steel floor system designed to speed construction and improve structural performance. His work has also earned him national recognition as the 2026 Reidar Bjorhovde Outstanding Young Professional Award recipient.
