Happy Juneteenth! Did you know the Grandfather of Juneteenth as a holiday was a Morristown College High School & Morristown College graduate? Rev. C. Anderson Davis was born in Pocahontas, Tazewell County, Virginia, attended Morristown College and then went on to fight for Civil Rights in the South, eventually settling in Houston, Texas where in 1973 he organized and promoted the 1st modern Juneteenth celebration there as Emancipation Day!
