BASIC stands for Brothers and Sisters In Christ. We are a group of college students seeking to serve the Lord and further the kingdom of God.

Meetings are held weekly on Wednesdays in Crawford Hall 116 7-9pm.

Merry Christmas, everyone!🎄

As we celebrate this beautiful season, we’re reminded of the true heart of Christmas—the story of Jesus’ birth, told through Scripture.

Over 2,000 years ago, Mary and Joseph traveled to Bethlehem, fulfilling the prophecy that the Messiah would be born there (Micah 5:2). When they arrived, “there was no room for them in the inn” (Luke 2:7), so they found shelter in a humble stable. There, Mary gave birth to Jesus and laid Him in a manger.

Out in the fields, shepherds watched over their flocks when suddenly an angel appeared, proclaiming:
“Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.” (Luke 2:10)
A heavenly host followed, praising God and saying:
“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men.” (Luke 2:14)

The shepherds hurried to see the newborn Savior, just as the prophets had foretold. And in that quiet moment, hope, peace, and everlasting love entered the world.

That night the Savior of the world was born to be a light shining in the darkness, and a testament of God’s love made real, and of the joy available to all through Christ.

May your Christmas be filled with peace, warmth, and the wonder of His love.

We are so excited for our end of semester Christmas banquet tomorrow!
There will be a lot of delicious food and the church has been transformed into a winter wonderland.
Formal attire is suggested, but not required. Come have a fun time of fellowship and community.

We will also be meeting Wednesday, December 12 at 7 in Crawford 116 for our last semester meeting.

Come join us for our weekly meeting Wednesday @7 in Crawford 116!

We will have Christmas music and will be making Christmas cards and packing shoe boxes to send all over the world to children who may have never received a gift before. When children receive a box, they also receive the story of salvation. This is through Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child.

Wear a Christmas sweater and be ready to be festive tomorrow night!

In light of events this week, we want to offer a space for connection, comfort, and community. Our weekly meeting will still be held tonight in Crawford 116 at 7:00. BASIC creates a space for everyone to come together and have conversations that are uplifting and encouraging.

Whether you want to talk, listen, or simply want to be around others who care, you are welcome here. Let’s take this time to hold one another up and find a bit of light together. We will be watching the next video in our series Experiencing God and having discussion afterwards.

Some of y'all may be wondering what BASIC is..
BASIC is a college campus ministry that aids college students in growing with there faith. There are 20 campuses across New York State that have a BASIC chapter present. BASIC hosts worship/prayer nights called BASIC Contend. These nights are powerful, and students have the opportunity to encounter the Lord outside of their usual prayer time and fellowship of weekly meetings. BASIC provides the opportunity for students to connect with other Christian college students and creates a welcoming community. The students also have the opportunity to attend a conference in Rochester once a semester to worship the Lord, sharpen their faith through power sessions, and foster Christian friendships with others.
