Today, Clayton State University welcomes students in our Summer Bridge program to campus for Orientation. 🧡💙

A select group of students has an opportunity to get a strong start on their college career. Designed to help students who show academic potential, the Bridge Program provides students with the assistance they need to do well in college while earning credits toward their degree.

Students are invited to attend the program during the summer to help them prepare for the following term. During the program, students will connect with support services and earn at least six college credits.

Some highlights of the program include:
• Introduction to key faculty and staff
• Optional residential living-learning community (LLC)
• Tailored guidance and support from the Center for Academic Success, Center for Advisement and Retention, Financial Aid, and Student Life.

Recent Clayton State graduate Kayla Goulbourne was awarded a scholarship from Women in Film & Television Atlanta, supporting her passion for filmmaking and production. 🎥

After transferring to Clayton State in 2023, Goulbourne found an environment that helped her grow both personally and professionally. “It was just a better fit for me,” she said.

That decision led to new opportunities, creative growth, and the confidence to pursue her dreams in film production and editing.

Leadership, authenticity and impact were at the center of Clayton State University’s inaugural Leadership Impact Summit hosted by the Center for Strategic Leadership Development in the College of Business. Dr. Melva Robertson, Director of the Center, hosted and facilitated the sessions.

Graduate students and professionals heard from distinguished business and community leaders on what it takes to lead with confidence through uncertainty and change.

The summit featured a dynamic leadership panel including:

Dr. Georj Lewis, President of Clayton State University;
Camye Mackey, Chief People Officer and Executive Vice President of the Atlanta Hawks and State Farm Arena;
Missy Taylor, CEO of Phobio;
Deonte Watters, CEO of LDC Lighthouse

Featured speakers also included Dr. Artesius Miller, CEO and Founder of Utopian Academy for the Arts, and Ryan Wilson, CEO and Co-Founder of The Gathering Spot.

Recently, Clayton State University Student Affairs, partnered with Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Tau Epsilon Chapter, to host “Barbershop Talk: Cutting Through the Silence.” 💬

This open forum created space for honest conversations around respect, consent, and healthy masculinity, encouraging students to lead with awareness and accountability. 🧡💙

Together, we continue building a safe, supportive campus for all.

Recently, Clayton State University students gained hands-on experience through the Junior Achievement Discovery Center Program (JA of Georgia), helping guide younger students through immersive simulations focused on financial literacy, career readiness, and leadership. 🧡💙

Through this experience, interns also developed key professional skills, such as leadership, communication, and teamwork, while mentoring middle school students in real-world learning environments.
