Here students learn hands-on and in the field working alongside award-winning faculty on some of the most amazing landscapes in the world. Our students train with nationally-renowned faculty to make a positive and profound impact on the way we interact with and manage the natural resources right outside our door and around the world. A College of Natural Resources doctoral candidate is combating food insecurity through indoor farming. 🐟🌿

Zarin Subah is pursuing her doctorate in environmental science at the University of Idaho's Boise campus. She is working on growing plants using aquaponics with rainbow trout. With this, Zarin is hoping for her work to have an impact on food insecurity.

Sunday marked the end of Mark Kimsey's North Idaho Field Trip! 🌲

This past week, 30 students from Hiroshima University visited the University of Idaho to learn about peace and sustainability as part of the Mega Exchange program.

Part of this visit was a trip to MOSS to learn about our sustainability practices. Alongside this, the students completed a final project with Dr. David Roon at the sustainability garden!

The students helped tend to the garden and created a torii gate that has become a permanent staple.

From childhood visits to Idaho State Parks to conducting research that helps shape their future, University of Idaho College of Natural Resources graduate Olivia Wells has come full circle.

Now pursuing her master's in natural resources, Wells is combining research, environmental education and hands-on experience to improve visitor experiences while supporting the long-term stewardship of Idaho's state parks.
