University of Idaho Student Chapter of The Wildlife Society Welcome! We are the Student Chapter of The Wildlife Society at The University of Idaho. We meet every other Thursday at 5:30 pm in CNR room 25.

The Wildlife Society-University of Idaho Student Chapter is a organization dedicated to guiding natural resource professionals to a successful and prosperous career in their field. We do many activities and trips over the year including snow shoeing, hiking, camping, kayaking, and fundraisers. Hope to see you there!

Our first meeting of the semester will be this Tuesday, September 8th at 6:00 p.m. We will be introducing ourselves, discussing our bylaws (briefly!), COVID plan, dues, and how we can best use our time this semester! We are hoping and tentatively planning to meet at the Shattuck Amphitheater, but awaiting approval, so check back. Hope to see everyone there!

SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY:
The Life Membership Fund Scholarship is to be awarded to a student in a field related to the Wild Sheep Foundation endeavors. Specifically, degrees in wildlife management, wildlife biology, and wildlife pathology. Area of focus on wild sheep is preferred, but not necessary. Awardee will be awarded a $5000 scholarship for schooling. This year a scholarship will be awarded to an undergraduate and another to a graduate student. Individual would be held to two requirements:

Travel to the Wild Sheep Foundation’s national convention, the Sheep Show in Reno, Nevada (travel expenses covered) to assist with running the Youth Wildlife Conservation Experience (YWCE). This three-day event includes students being bused in to learn about careers in the outdoors, wildlife conservation, and hands-on learning experiences. The individual would most likely also be one of the keynote speakers during the event.

During the same Sheep Show, the individual would also be involved with helping run other aspects of the Sheep Show. Additionally, the applicant must be a member of Wild Sheep Foundation (Can occur after scholarship is offered).
