Senior spotlight on Pedro Franca: Pedro is majoring in Biology and plans to us that degree to get his masters and eventually to medical school! He plays men’s soccer and say that what he likes most is UMO’s close community, his team, and the the people he’s has met through is journey at UMO.

Senior spotlight on Jaiden Moody: “My name is Jaiden Moody, and I am a senior majoring in, both, Biology and Biochemistry. I have been on the women's track and field since I came to UMO in 2019 and am, currently, the school record holder for the 400m and am a part of the school records for the 4x400m and 4x100m relays. When I graduate, I am going to continue my education through an accelerated bachelor's of science in nursing program. I have applied to Duke University and University of Pennsylvania. I am blessed to say I have been accepted to the University of Pennsylvania already and will hear back from Duke in March.
It is a bittersweet moment to say goodbye to UMO, my college track career, and my UMO friends pretty soon, but I am excited to see what the future holds for me. “

Senior spotlight on Julius Muchangi: “my name is Julius Muchangi and I am a senior majoring in Biomedical science and minoring in both Chemistry and Health Care Management. When I graduate I plan to apply to Medical School where I hope to pursue internal medicine studies with a special focus on research and health policy management. I am passionate about enabling health access to the underserved and uninsured. I love traveling and experiencing different cultures. UMO has been my home away from home. It has amazing faculty who are willing to advise students and support them to succeed. I have made some amazing friends as well who’ve been my support community. UMO will always be in my heart even while being away from school.”

UMO successfully hosted the 5th annual STEM on the Green on 10/14. More than 650 3rd graders from Duplin and Wayne Counties joined us for a day of hands-on activities and demonstrations.
