Due to the success and growth of the Bible Institute, we have taken an important step to bring onboard Dr. Paul Mongin as the Coordinator for the GBBI.

Dr. Mongin has been serving as an on campus adjunct for two years and has proven his effectiveness in teaching and administration. He has been a long-time business person in Georgia and a pastor in the Savannah area. He completed his Ph.D. from Columbia International University in Organizational Leadership, a Master of Divinity from Liberty University, and a degree in business management from Brewton-Parker Christian University. Thus he understands the importance of instructional sites such as our Bible Institute system.

We are blessed to have him, and we look forward to the continued growth and success of the GBBI.

Our MAWM class, Songwriting for Worship, examines the various necessary components of the creative process of Christian songwriting as it pertains to preparation, ex*****on, performance, and congregational application through worship. Attention is given to theological, ministry, and practical integration of these components to render authentic worship songwriting that will glorify God in worship.

Russ Lee says, "Music is a language of the heart. Worship is the desire of every heart. Songwriting for Worship will help us give expression to this desire toward the God who is worthy of our praise."

Convocation 2026 | A New Academic Year Begins 🎓

This week, Brewton-Parker Christian University gathered for Convocation, an academic tradition that formally marks the beginning of a new year and renews our commitment to serving our students in Christian love.

During the service, we celebrated the faithfulness of those who help make the BPCU experience possible. Dr. Sampyo Hong was presented with the 2026 Vulcan Teaching Excellence Award, and several faculty and staff members were recognized for milestone years of service. Representatives from our faculty, staff, and athletics also affirmed BPCU’s commitment to the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.

President Steven F. Echols shared from Psalm 139 and reminded our campus that God knows each of our stories completely. He knows where we have been, where we are, and the purpose He has for our lives. Fame and accomplishments may fade, but God’s faithfulness does not.

As we begin this academic year, we are reminded that our story matters because God has a purpose for it. More than what we accomplish, He is shaping who we become.
