For some families, a parent’s workplace exists at a distance—a building you pass, a place you hear about, but rarely know. For the Errington family, it was something else entirely. At Ball State University, Dr. Paul R. Errington’s work was never confined neatly to office hours or classroom wal...

How does a crab respond when afraid? What things do they fear? How do tides affect ecosystems, and how high do snails climb to escape predators? 🦀🐌

🏝 These questions and more were answered by biology students during finals week as they presented their findings from a spring break research trip to Sapelo Island off the coast of Georgia. Students, faculty, friends, and family all gathered to hear the poster presentations by the students about their unique field experience this semester.

❤ Spending vacation time conducting hands-on testing of a crab’s predator response and fight or flight instincts? That’s how we fly.

Raina Wolf is Biology & Pre-Dental Preparation major! 🦷

☀️🌕 One of her favorite memories is watching the solar eclipse on campus with her mom and being able to being able to take off her glasses at totality to see the sun and moon perfectly aligned on Ball State's campus.

🔬 Because of Ball State, she had the opportunity to apply to the Teacher-Scholar Program and join Dr. Pederson's research lab, where she discovered her passion for hands-on scientific research.
