Ball State University Property Management Program Welcome to one of the few Property Management Programs in the entire United States! Our program has a robust and active Advisory Board.

As our population and economy continue to expand so does the demand for housing and commercial properties. As one of only a few Property Management programs in the country, we are here to meet the challenges of those demands. Immersed in a small and experiential program, our students will have real-world opportunities in many areas of property management. Using our expert faculty, industry professionals and program partners, our students will gain skills and knowledge in marketing and leasing investment properties, financial management of real estate investments, and the development, construction and operations of real estate properties. The BSU Property Management (PM) Program offers both a Property Management major and Property Management minor. We have flexible learning pathways for both traditional and non-traditional students. Our program wants to maximize your marketability with the potential to earn professional credentials. As a part of our curriculum, students will get the opportunity to prepare and sit for the Certified Apartment Manager (CAM) and Certified Apartment Leasing Professional (CALP) exams. Students who pass these exams will graduate with not only their degree and experience, but the industry credentials needed for employment and promotion. Each certification cost is upwards of $1,000, but if you are a student in our program, these are included in your educational experience. With over 20 organizations from all across the US, their expertise, professional connections and job opportunities are at our students’ fingertips. Student’s will have numerous chances throughout their education to interact, network and build relationships with professionals who are experts in their field. The Board also provides significant funding support for our program’s activities and scholarship offerings. Check out our Advisory Board members on our webpage. Even before graduation, Property Management students are in high demand. With a 100% job placement rate out of our program, PM Alumni are employed by companies all over the country, starting in a variety of entry level positions, and then move up very quickly in the industry. Earlier this week, our students attended an inspiring panel hosted by IndyCREW, the Greater Indianapolis chapter of the CREW Network, a global organization established to advance and support women in commercial real estate. 🦸‍♀️🏢

The panelists shared invaluable wisdom on navigating career pathways, lessons learned from the field, and strategies for building meaningful connections in today’s market. 💡🤝

A huge thank you to our featured panelists, Rachana Kulkarni, Katy Schmidt, Kristen Berry Monnot, and Kasia Singletary, for investing in the next generation of industry leaders! ❤️

Homecoming Week at Ball State University has been a💥BLAST💥, and it wouldn't be complete without Dialogue Days!

This year’s event was especially meaningful for BSU Property Management, as we welcomed back several alumni and advisory board members to campus to speak on networking panels for students all day Wednesday and Thursday. 🙋✨

We also debuted our very own Dialogue Day session, "The Best Kept Secret in Real Estate: Exploring Careers in Multifamily", hosted by Prof. Jamie Allen, and featuring multifamily stars Chelsea Leiter Thompson, Jacob Snider, and Katrina Yahner! 🤩

To cap off the day, our students gathered for an insightful roundtable with Jacob Snider and Suzanne Peperak, CPM, both of Barrett & Stokely. The conversation was a whirlwind of topics, including career pathways, industry opportunities, and the value of time management. 🕰️

Thank you to all of our incredible alumni and industry partners for spending the day with our students and making an impact. None of this would be possible without your support! ❤️

This past week, our students ventured down to the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis to attend the Indiana Apartment Association’s Midwest Multifamily Conference (MMC).✨

As the Midwest’s largest multifamily housing event, MMC brought together hundreds of industry leaders, a massive trade show floor, and high-level educational breakout sessions covering everything from modern property tech to operational excellence. 💡

For our students, it was an incredible chance to step out of the classroom and immerse themselves directly in the fast-paced world of real estate development and property management. 🤝🏼

Thank you to the Indiana Apartment Association for hosting such an impactful event, and to Lindsey Kesler for her mentorship during the event. We're proud of our students for representing our program with enthusiasm and professionalism. ❤️

This year’s Buckingham Day gave our students the kind of real‑world connection you can’t get from a classroom alone. It was a full, high‑energy networking event built around learning, relationship‑building, and giving back; all in one afternoon! 😁

The event’s panel brought together leaders from across Buckingham Companies to discuss career pathways, industry trends, and the skills young professionals should be building now. Students heard stories from the field, learned how major projects come together, and got practical advice on navigating internships, early‑career roles, and professional growth. 🪴

Afterwards, everyone rolled up their sleeves and packed food for the Muncie Soup Kitchen, where we packed hundreds of lunches for those in need. Thank you to everyone who participated in the festivities of Buckingham Day and the service project afterward! ♥️

Yesterday, our students had the incredible opportunity to take a sneak peek behind the curtain at the Cantio Hotel being built on our very own Village, just off campus! 🏫

This was an amazing opportunity for our students to learn more about development and construction, right here at Ball State University. Our students were very engaged and were curious to learn not just about the hotel's features and services, but also whether there were career opportunities for them both during their studies and after graduation.

Thank you to Messer Construction Co. and Schahet Hotels for the immersive tour and your insight into the project! ❤️

Ball State students are invited to Buckingham Career Day, on Thursday, Oct. 8, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Student Center Ballroom!

‼️RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED‼️

Hosted in partnership with Buckingham Companies, this event will connect students with professionals in architecture, construction, real estate, and property management. Founded in 1984 and headquartered in Indianapolis, Buckingham is a fully integrated real estate investment firm with a portfolio exceeding $3 billion and a team of over 400 employees across nine states.

We’re especially excited to welcome Conor Daly, a professional race car driver from Noblesville, as our lunch keynote speaker! Conor competes in both the IndyCar Series and the NASCAR Cup Series and will share insights on performance, perseverance, and branding, offering valuable takeaways for students across disciplines.

Following the career fair, we will be partnering with Buckingham for a meaningful service project. In the afternoon, volunteers will meet in Allegre to help pack meals for local distribution. This is a unique opportunity for students to give back to the community while building relationships with peers and professionals.

To register, please email your name, the sessions you plan to attend, and any dietary restrictions to [email protected] .

We're excited to see you there!

Last Wednesday, we hosted our Fall Advisory Board Meeting, where students from PMGT 275: Marketing and Leasing Properties had the chance to meet board members and inquire about careers in property management. For many of our students, especially those outside the PM major, it was their first meaningful introduction to our industry partners, and they showed incredible curiosity and professionalism. 👏🎓

Thank you to our Advisory Board members for taking the time to come to campus and meet with our students for an early-morning meeting (don't worry, there was coffee!☕😁)

We also want to recognize Suzanne Peperak, who will serve as our Advisory Board President for the 2026-2027 Academic Year!

Thank you all so much for your continued support!💟
