MTSU Interactive Media The Interactive Media degree program is in the Media Arts department in the College of Media and Entertainment at Middle Tennessee State University.

Through the theoretical and practical curriculum, we are focused on preparing the next generation of professional new media practitioners. We focus on the fundamentals and the foundation of media with the philosophy that understanding the changes that came before can help us understand the changes that will come. What's Interactive Media? We get asked that all the time. Let's give it a shot. It is

any media technology or practice or movement that is new or different or adapted from traditional or legacy media such as radio, television, magazines, or newspapers. Today that includes social media, online video, transmedia, web series, gamification, search engines, web analytics, content strategy, and user experience. And it can be extended to the sharing economy, hacking, making, or coworking. Interactive Media is about how media is changing and how is it affecting us personally, professionally, economically, socially, locally, and globally.
