๐ Behind Closed Doors, we found the courage to open conversations that matter.
On Saturday, October 17, our Behind Closed Doors: From Fear to Freedom Brunch brought the community together for an unforgettable afternoon of powerful stories, meaningful conversations, and a shared commitment to breaking the silence surrounding domestic violence and sexual assault.
Hosted by the Kappa Tau Sigma Alumnae Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., alongside Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. in partnership with the Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Center this event reminded us that awareness is more than a conversation. It's a call to action.
๐ AND WE HAVE SOMETHING TO CELEBRATE! Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, we officially *SURPASSED OUR $3,000 FUNDRAISING GOAL! Every contribution brings us closer to providing hope, healing, and support to those who need it most. ๐
But the work doesn't stop here! We're still accepting donations, and every gift continues to make a difference.
A heartfelt thank you to our phenomenal keynote speaker, Kat Polsinelli of The Lotus Effect, for courageously sharing her personal survivor story and delivering a moving poem and powerful message that left a lasting impression on everyone in attendance.
To our community partners, generous donors, attendees, and everyone who helped bring this event to life, THANK YOU! Your compassion and commitment made this afternoon truly special.
Because breaking the silence is only the beginning. Creating change is the mission๐
