Murray State University would like to invite you to the upcoming continuing education presentation: "Su***de Assessment, Management and Treatment: General Overview and Special Applications to Neurodiverse Populations" with Dr. Michael Bordieri of Murray State University. This event will be held on September 25th, 2026 on the third floor of the Curris Center in the Barkley Room. Please see the event itinerary below:

At the end of the presentation, attendees will:
1. Summarize current literature regarding su***de prevalence, risk factors (both acute and distal), and protective factors, and apply these findings to their clinical practice.
2. Adapt and integrate evidence-based su***de risk assessment approaches such as the Su***de Assessment Five-step Evaluation and Triage (SAFE-T) and the Columbia Su***de Severity Rating Scale (C-SSRS) into their clinical practice.
3. Identify and describe the six steps of the Safety Planning Intervention (SPI) process (including lethal means safety) and implement SPI as a brief intervention.
4. Apply select Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)-informed skills interventions, including chain analysis, distress tolerance, and emotion regulation skills, to develop individualized risk-mitigation interventions.
5. Identify clinical considerations for adapting su***de risk assessment, safety planning, and intervention strategies for neurodivergent clients, including autistic clients.
This (6 hour) continued education instruction is $75 and will include a morning and afternoon session. We will be accepting cash, check or credit at the event.
