The College of Humanities and Fine Arts is excited to present the Humaities+ Series for a second year of fascinating presentations. Up first, the Department of Music's very own Dr. Ashley Cu***ng will present "Stage Ready: A guide to mastering presence in interviews, presentation, and high-stakes moments" this Thursday September 3rd at 4:40pm in Faculty Hall room 208. This presentation is free and open to all.

Congratulations to rising BM in Musical Theatre senior, Jessie Leal. They have been working in Bardstown, KY for The Stephen Foster Story. Tickets are still on sale for Annie, July 8-August 5, 2026. Congratulations to the cast and crew of these productions!

What are some of our Musical Theatre students doing this summer? Performing Legally Blonde at The Glema Mahr Center for the Arts! Congratulations to alumni Liam Coursey (music director) and Quinn Coursey (choreographer and playing the role of Brooke)! Also congratulations to current student, Peyton Adams, for playing the role of Emmett Forrest, and to incoming student, Erin Wilson, for playing the role of Elle Woods! Break legs this weekend!! 👏👏

Last weekend, the Department of Music lost one of its giants. Longtime Director of Bands, Dennis Johnson, passed away on Saturday, May 23. For all of us who have worked with Dennis, made music with Dennis (thousands of Murray State students and more thousands around the world), or had the pleasure of getting to know Dennis over the years, he will always hold a special place in our hearts.
