Murray State University Center for Economic Education The MSU Center for Econ Ed seeks to improve economic and financial literacy within K-12 schools in Kentucky.

The MSU Center aims to develop in K-12 young people the economic knowledge and decision making skills they will need throughout their lives. The MSU Center employs multiple strategies in pursuit of its mission—

- To support economic and entrepreneurial education training to teachers who in turn will teach students;

- To produce and distribute teaching materials for use by teachers in K-12 clas

srooms throughout the curriculum;

- To maintain an affiliation with the National Council on Economic Education and the Kentucky Council on Economic Education to draw upon their strength in national and state programming, curriculum materials, basic research and public awareness of the need for economic education;

- To be involved with local business and community organizations in implementing economic education into the service-area schools.

Are you a K-12 teacher looking for a FREE professional development event that's FUN and engaging this summer?

Check out our 2026 Econ Extravaganza PD event in June 💲💲💲

The date of the event is June 24, from 9 am - 12 pm @ Murray State University.

This will be a half day focusing on ECONOMIC EDUCATION complete with interactive lessons, curriculum highlights, and lots of fun activities to incorporate into your classes for the benefit of students. And like always, lunch will be provided 🤩🤩🤩
