Meet Lucina and her baby girl, Charlotte!
Lucina is an advanced maternal and neonatal birthing simulator. She has an integrated maternal-fetal physiology system. This feature enables the simulation of diverse scenarios encompassing pregnancy, labor, and childbirth, offering students the opportunity to practice their skills in prenatal assessment, labor management, and critical emergency responses.
Additionally, Lucina is accompanied by a neonatal baby named Charlotte, utilized for newborn care simulations. Charlotte is designed to augment the maternal and childbirth simulation exercises with Lucina, ensuring a holistic birthing process simulation.

Meet Apollo! Apollo is one of several high-fidelity mannequins who call the NNU College of Nursing home. These mannequins can accurately replicate human anatomy and physiology for real life medical simulations. They can facilitate advanced medical skills which include CPR, intubation, and defibrillation. They are also equipped to display real time vital signs, EKG readings, and blood pressure!

Did you know that NNU has state-of-the-art labs and equipment in the Thomas Family Health and Science Center? Our students have the opportunity to practice their skills in our open lab with both male and female mannequins. Our students also have the opportunity to practice their therapeutic communication and step into the role of a primary nurse in our simulation lab, with our talking simulation mannequins.
