Today, we recognize World Mental Health Day 💚. Awareness, education, and removing the social stigma helps us discover better ways to navigate our lived experiences.

Delta Sigma Theta is committed to working within our communties to mitigate mental health crises and provide the tools and resources neccessary for the unique support that many are in need of. We thank our National Physical and Mental Health Subcommittee for leading the charge toward a world that prioritizes the mental well-being of all people.

This October, with purpose!

During Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated encourages you to make breast health a priority.

Know your family history and share it with your healthcare provider. Stay current on routine screenings, including mammograms, based on your age and individual risk. Pay attention to changes in your breasts and speak with your provider about any concerns. These conversations and screenings can help detect breast cancer earlier, when it is easier to treat.

We stand with our sisters and all those navigating a diagnosis, celebrate our survivors, and honor the lives and memories of those who have transitioned. Their experiences remind us why education, advocacy, and access to quality care remain essential to our work, especially in addressing the health disparities affecting Black women.

Be sure to schedule your screening if you’re due, encourage someone you love to do the same, and support efforts that bring care within reach.

As one sisterhood, we come together to raise awareness, encourage action, and surround those affected by breast cancer with care and support. This October and beyond, let’s continue showing up for ourselves and one another.

Sisterhood, fellowship and school supplies — a cookout with a purpose! ❤️

Members of the Rockland County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. joined our fellow Divine Nine organizations for the National Pan-Hellenic Council of Rockland County’s “Cookout for a Cause” on Sept. 12 at Haverstraw Bay Park. Together, attendees donated enough school supplies to fill approximately 60 backpacks, including notebooks, pencils, highlighters, colored pencils and more, for the Martin Luther King Jr. Center in Spring Valley.

We enjoyed connecting with our Greek family while supporting local students as they began a new school year. Thank you to everyone who contributed. Swipe for a look at fellowship and service in action!

For 113 years, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated has demonstrated a commitment to civic engagement and voting rights—a legacy that began in 1913 when our Founders participated in the historic Woman Suffrage Procession in Washington, D.C.

Today, the Eastern Region of Delta Sigma Theta continues that tradition by encouraging communities to be informed, prepared, and engaged in the democratic process.

The 2026 Midterm Election will determine representation and address issues at the federal, state, and local levels. Now is the time to get election-ready.
