Explore how w**eries, w**e brands, retailers, restaurants and educators can use social media to build authentic connections, strengthen their brand, and grow their audience. Participants will learn platform-specific strategies, create engaging content, understand current algorithms and analytics, and develop practical social media campaigns tailored to the w**e industry. Join us and Women For W**eSense next Friday, October 16, for a tasting with Anna Pope and Kevin Holt of Bartholomew Estate W**ery and the Bartholomew Foundation.

About our Guests: After Anna Pope graduated from law school at UC Davis, she was assigned a real estate matter that would change her life. Under the supervision of William W. Godward, she advised Antonia and Frank Bartholomew on legal matters for decades. After Godward’s passing, she was named trustee of the Bartholomew Foundation. She stopped practicing law in 2017 and turned her full attention to Bartholomew Park and W**ery, keeping the magic of both establishments alive and available to the public.

Kevin Holt has been making w**e professionally in California for over twenty years. A graduate of UC Davis’s Viticulture and Enology program, he has held w**emaking positions at Quivira Vineyards, Artesa W**ery, MacRostie W**ery, and his current positions at Beltane Ranch and Bartholomew Estates. Prior to becoming a w**emaker, Kevin worked on the retail and wholesale sides of the industry, giving him a well-rounded perspective of the w**e production process.

REMINDER: NVC is hosting two W**e Wednesdays this fall: Dan Dawson's 4-part "W**es of Burgundy," and Tim Gaiser/Paul Wagner's "Message in the Bottle: A Guide to Tasting W**e!"

W**es of Burgundy: Dan will guide you region by region — from Chablis to the Mâconnais — sharing not just what's in the glass, but the land, the classification rules, and the stories behind them. Fresh from his own recent travels through Burgundy, Dan brings a firsthand, current perspective to this deep dive into one of the world's most influential w**e regions.

Message in the Bottle: NVC Viticulture and W**ery Technology instructor Paul Wagner will interview Tim Gaiser, master sommelier, and explore the topics of blind tasting, food and w**e today, and "did that really happen?"

Partner Shoutout: Young Inglewood!

Our vineyard operations students had the opportunity to harvest donated fruit from Young Inglewood Vineyards. W**emaker Scott Young has been a steadfast supporter of the VWT program for several years, generously supplying quality fruit to our students while our teaching vineyard is replanted and matures.

About Young Inglewood: Young Inglewood Vineyards farms its estate vineyards organically and regeneratively, working together with nature. Its gently sloping vineyards sit on an alluvial fan at the base of the Mayacamas, where gravelly loam soils provide excellent drainage and aeration. Sparse irrigation encourages deep roots, while cover crops, bat and bird boxes, and beneficial insects protect vine health without compromising the soil. It's an ideal classroom for our students to work alongside.

Join us and Women For W**eSense next Friday, October 2nd, for a tasting with Jessica Link, President of Davis Estates and Owner of Linked Vineyards.

Jessica Link began her journey into the world of w**e when her father decided to purchase a hillside property with the hopes of turning it into a family legacy. Jessica turned her full attention to learning everything about the field, earning her BS in W**e Business, Management, and Human Resources, making her one of the first graduates of the W**e Business program. She then explored nearly every facet of the industry as she worked with some of California’s most prestigious w**eries, including Beringer, Sonoma-Cutrer, and Robert Young. By 2007, the fruit on Jessica’s family property was ready for the next step - a w**e that fully expressed the landscape. After meeting w**emaker Luc Morlet, Jessica and her husband Drew launched their boutique label, Linked Vineyards. In 2016, Jessica joined Davis Estates, right as they were opening their doors. She still serves as President of the w**ery, bringing curiosity and connection to every aspect of her work.
