Rivier men’s lacrosse delivered a historic 2026 season, finishing 18-1 while setting program records for both victories and longest winning streak.

The Raiders went undefeated through the regular season and GNAC Tournament, winning their second consecutive conference championship and becoming the first GNAC men’s lacrosse program to enter the NCAA Tournament undefeated following conference play.

Rivier earned major conference recognition following the season, led by GNAC Coach of the Year James DeLanoy, Defensive Player of the Year and Goalkeeper of the Year Jake Lydon, Faceoff Specialist of the Year Owen McDuffie, and Rookie of the Year Conor Walsh.

The Raiders placed nine student-athletes on the All-GNAC teams: First Team selections Aiden Conley, Colin Foley, Logan Layton, Lydon, and McDuffie; Second Team selections Henri Brochu, James DelPrete, and Cole Ronalter; and Third Team selection Conor Walsh.

Rivier led all of NCAA Division III in scoring defense, allowing just 5.47 goals per game, while Lydon became the team’s first All-America selection, capturing USA Lacrosse Magazine Honorable Mention in May after leading the nation in goals-against average (5.70).

Rivier women’s lacrosse took an important step forward in 2026, finishing with eight victories while returning to the GNAC Tournament for the first time since 2018.

The Raiders were one of the top defensive teams in the country, ranking third nationally and first in the GNAC with 15.39 caused turnovers per game while also ranking 28th nationally in scoring defense at 7.67 goals allowed per game.

Junior Madelyn Poulton earned GNAC First Team honors after recording 31 caused turnovers, while first-year Hayleigh Young was named to the GNAC Second Team after setting a program single-season record with 79 draw controls. Senior Bailey Carroll was also recognized on the GNAC All-Sportsmanship Team.

In goal, first-year netminder Arrianna Imbriano ranked 22nd nationally with a 7.74 goals-against average, helping anchor a Raider defense that powered several key results, including an 18-0 shutout of Albertus Magnus and a 9-7 win at Simmons that secured Rivier’s postseason berth.

Opening pitch with a lacrosse twist. 🥍

In honor of Rivier men’s lacrosse’s outstanding 2026 season, including back-to-back GNAC postseason championships and a second consecutive NCAA Division III Tournament appearance, Head Coach Jay DeLanoy threw out Wednesday’s ceremonial first pitch at the Nashua Silver Knights’ Education Day game against the New Britain Bees.

The annual day game, sponsored by Rivier, brings local students to Historic Holman Stadium for baseball, learning, and community connection.

As part of Rivier’s partnership with the Silver Knights, custom “Gate City” jerseys are being auctioned through June 3, with bidding closing at 5 p.m. Proceeds from the jersey auction will benefit the Rivier University Fund, providing opportunities for students that foster academic excellence, student engagement, and professional preparation.
