Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Alpha Delta Omega Chapter Alpha Delta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. was organized on October 9, 1927. Martin Emerald Ball.

The charter was signed by National President, Pauline Puryear, in December, 1927. As a result of the 1927 Boule ruling, graduates and undergraduates had to be separated as chapters. Alpha Delta Omega was separated from Pi Chapter of Fisk University. Today, the Chapter boasts over 300 members and own their own sorority house, The Ivy Center of Nashville. The Ivy Center of Nashville was built and th

e mortgage was burned after five (5) years. The Chapter's meetings are held at the house but the building also serves the community as a place to host social activities. The Ivy Center of Nashville Foundation serves as the charitable arm of the sorority. The Foundation sponsors the fundraising activities such as the Biennial Precious Pearls Cotillion and more recently, the Johnella H. The Cotillion provides scholarships and the Emerald Ball provided support for the Sickle Cell Program at Meharry Medical College. Many other activities are a part of the Chapter's mission of "service to all mankind." Charitable contributions:

Today we proudly celebrate our sister Novella Page, a courageous 1960s Civil Rights activist and treasured member of Alpha Delta Omega Chapter. Recently honored by Greater Bethel AME Church for her fearless commitment to justice, Soror Page stood on the front lines of change, participating in the historic Nashville sit-ins that helped transform our nation.

Her bravery, strength, and unwavering belief in equality continue to inspire generations. We honor not only her legacy of service and activism, but also the grace and wisdom she continues to share with our community. Thank you, dear sister, Novella Page, for helping pave the way forward.

An icon in the Nashville community, her profound impact spans generations as a dedicated educator, faith leader, and trailblazer.

The Southeast Branch Library was filled with pride, innovation, and community spirit as Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, Alpha Delta Omega Chapter, hosted its “Voices of Tomorrow: Youth Leadership Institute (YLI) Showcase”. The event served as a formal graduation ceremony for the 2025–2026 YLI cohort and a public presentation of their year-long academic and community-focused projects.

Under the leadership of Committee Chairmen Emerson and Dawson, the showcase beautifully demonstrated the sorority’s international initiative, Empower Our Families. The interactive afternoon spotlighted the brilliance of middle school-aged youth who spent the cohort year developing leadership skills, critical thinking, and civic responsibility.

The Alpha Delta Omega Chapter extends its deepest gratitude to the families, mentors, and committee members who supported these spectacular young leaders on their journey this year.

Our May chapter meeting was filled with sisterhood, celebration, purpose, and power! From milestone achievements and anniversaries to honors, accomplishments, and well-deserved recognitions — we celebrated the incredible women among us and shared in each other’s joy.

And of course, we handled the business of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® — because that’s what women of purpose do. Leaders. Advocates. Change agents. Community builders. Mentors. Women out here doing the amazing work every single day while uplifting communities, raising future leaders, and standing for service and social justice.
