The School of Education Literacy Center at Aquinas College invites you to the 7th annual Family Literacy Night on October 1st from 5:30-6:30pm in the Aquinas Center. The theme for this event is "Virtues in Picture Books." Families will rotate around literacy stations led by local teachers and Aquinas teacher candidates as they explore examples of the virtues in children's literature. These examples can show children how we can find examples of the virtues even in the books we read. The purpose of the event is to support parents and children in reading together as a family and celebrate the joy of children's literature. To RSVP, you can visit www.aquinascollege.edu/outreach/literacy.

We are excited to welcome Robson as one of our seminarians studying here during his propaedeutic year at Aquinas College. Propaedeutic Studies students complete a two-semester internship course as part of the certificate program. The Internship in Parish and Priestly Ministry experiences are completed in parishes across the Diocese and provides the new seminarians diverse experiences, giving them a better idea of the multiple responsibilities of a parish priest.

Meet our first seminarian in the Propaeduetic Program, Robson (Rob) Ferreira. He is from Brazil and studied in Italy for a few years prior to coming to Nashville. Rob hopes to learn a lot from all of us here at Our Lady of the Lake and help in any way he can.

"I am very happy and grateful for the warm welcome I have received in Nashville and now also at Our Lady of the Lake Parish. For me, all of this is an expression of God’s providence in my life and confirms my decision to say “yes” to His call. Thank you, Our Lady of the Lake family. May God bless you all!"

Please join us in praying for him in this discernment process, that he may always do God's will.
