What started as a simple idea became a meaningful act of comfort for children in Nashville hospitals. 🖍️💙

Galen Nashville student, Suelen Hernandez, launched a crayon collection initiative to support pediatric patients through The Crayon Initiative. Inspired by the importance of comfort and normalcy for children in healthcare settings, Suelen rallied the Galen community to give back in a creative and impactful way.

The result? An incredible 1,472 crayons collected! These crayons will be recycled and redistributed to children in hospitals, helping brighten even their toughest days.

“Seeing everyone come together was really rewarding,” Suelen shared. “It showed how something small can become meaningful when people come together.”

We are so proud of Suelen for turning compassion into action and reminding us that even the smallest gestures can make a lasting difference. 💛

Our GSNA spent last Saturday volunteering at Second Harvest Food Bank and made a huge impact! 💙

This Mother’s Day, we’re celebrating moms who prove it’s never too late to chase a dream. 💙

After spending more than 20 years raising her seven children while working as a CNA and patient care technician, Diana Frederick finally returned to school to pursue her ADN. Even after suffering a serious hiking accident and undergoing four surgeries during nursing school, she refused to give up. With determination, support from her campus, and the encouragement of her family, Diana graduated from Galen and is now beginning her next chapter as an Emergency Department RN. 🩺

To every mother balancing family, work, and their own dreams — we see you, and we celebrate you this Mother’s Day. 🌷🩺
