Recently, Nashville School of Law alumnus Kevin Kennedy '83, senior member of The Kennedy Law Firm in Clarksville, hosted the firm's 2026 Legal Internship Program.

For decades, The Kennedy Law Firm has welcomed exceptional students from local high schools, colleges, universities, and law schools to participate in this unique summer experience.

Interns gain firsthand exposure to the legal system by meeting with judges from Chancery, Circuit, General Sessions, and Juvenile Courts, while also attending presentations from the District Attorney's Office and private attorneys practicing both civil and criminal law at the state and federal levels.

"This program allows experienced members of the bench and bar to mentor and share their expertise with a new generation that is shaping the future of our legal system," said Kevin Kennedy.

Well done, Kevin!

Twenty-five years ago, Nashville School of Law Alumnus Jeff Cherry ’01 crossed the stage and received his law degree at the NSL graduation ceremony. His wife Stacey and their three little ones were in the crowd cheering him on - including his then 17-month-old baby boy named Jackson who you see in the photo below.

Today, that same little boy followed in his father’s footsteps and graduated from NSL himself. And as if the moment couldn’t be more special, Jackson and his wife Hailey are now preparing to welcome their own son in just a few short weeks.

From one generation to the next, the Cherry family story is a wonderful reminder that dreams and legacy truly come full circle.

Congratulations to you Jackson, and to the entire Cherry family on this unforgettable milestone!

Many Nashville School of Law students balance law school with raising families, which makes graduation an especially meaningful celebration when loved ones are there to share in the moment.

This weekend, 4L Jordan Echols will be one of 66 law students graduating from NSL, and as both a future attorney and a mom, she is especially grateful for the journey and the support that brought her to this milestone.

Jordan says she would not have made it through law school without the Lord. She is also grateful for the support of her parents, family, and friends who were always there encouraging and believing in her. Jordan thanks her loyal babysitters, who were such a blessing.

And she is especially grateful for her daughter, Eliana, with whom she shares this message:
“Eliana, my darling, you are the best thing that ever happened to me. The best gift! Your grace, patience, and sacrifice while I went to class and studied, and what I am sure felt like all the time, will forever be something that pulls on my heart strings because I know how hard it was for you at times. Thank you for enduring the last four years. There is nothing in this world I love more than being your momma."

Congratulations to Jordan and NSL’s Class of 2026!

After studying law for the past four years, soon-to-be Nashville School of Law graduate Diane Boncquet has built her legal foundation in governmental law, a role she currently enjoys and continues to grow within.

Looking ahead, the Clarksville resident plans to transition her practice into estate planning, probate, and elder law, with a potential interest in property law as well, as she continues to shape a career centered on service and long-term client support.

Diane extends her heartfelt gratitude to her husband, her daughters, and her father, whose tremendous love, encouragement, and support made the achievement of her J.D. degree possible.

Congratulations to Diane and NSL’s Class of 2026!

Not every Nashville School of Law student will move directly from the classroom into a courtroom.

NSL students pursue their Juris Doctor degrees for a variety of reasons and career paths. 4L MaryKatelyn Price is one example.

She currently serves as the Legislative Liaison for the Tennessee Department of Tourist Development. With a strong foundation in legislative affairs and public relations, she is especially interested in exploring the intersection of those fields with crisis management.

However, MaryKatelyn remains open to future opportunities in litigation, with a focus on using her legal education to make a meaningful and lasting impact.

With NSL’s graduation days away, MaryKatelyn would like to say thank you to her family, friends, coworkers, and classmates for their steady encouragement and support throughout her law school journey.

Congratulations to MaryKatelyn and NSL’s Class of 2026!
