It’s always exciting to give our Nashville School of Law students a way to connect with Tennessee lawyers.

The Tennessee Bar Association Young Lawyers Division (YLD) is committed to helping law students and young attorneys build relationships, develop professionally, find opportunities to serve, and become active members of Tennessee’s legal community.

Thank you to the YLD for meeting with NSL students to highlight upcoming programs, share opportunities to get involved, and introduce students to the many ways they can connect with the TBA and YLD.

We are thrilled to celebrate our own Nashville School of Law Professor of Intellectual Property and AI Ed Lanquist on being recognized by Best Lawyers in America as the 2027 “Lawyer of the Year” for Intellectual Property and Patent Litigation in Nashville!

This prestigious recognition is a testament to Mr. Lanquist’s outstanding legal expertise, leadership, and dedication to the evolving field of intellectual property.

Our NSL students are fortunate to learn from an attorney and educator of his caliber.

What did you do after work today?

These students spent their evening attending the first day of classes for the 2026–2027 academic year at Nashville School of Law.

While many people are heading to dinner, the gym, or home to relax, our students are heading to class - balancing careers, families, and countless responsibilities - all while pursuing their goal of earning a J.D. degree.

Here's to a new academic year, new challenges, and new opportunities.

We are saddened to learn of the passing of Nashville School of Law alumnus and former faculty member John Joseph Archer.

A member of the Class of 1963, Archer returned to NSL to teach Property Law from 1983 to 1998, contributing to the education of many students over the years.

We extend our condolences to his family, friends, former students, and colleagues. His obituary may be found below.

Nashville School of Law Dean Koch visited the Fairgrounds today to encourage our NSL graduates as they continue the Tennessee bar exam.

We are grateful for his support and proud of the alumni and donors who continue this meaningful bar exam lunch tradition, reminding our future attorneys that the NSL community is behind them every step of the way.

As our Nashville School of Law graduates wrap up the first day of the bar exam, other NSL alumni were there with lunch and encouragement.

What began with the NSL Class of 2024 has grown into a meaningful tradition of alumni and other NSL donors coming together to support this year's bar exam takers. Thanks to their generosity, lunch was provided once again for NSL graduates testing in Tennessee.

Thank you to everyone who donated their time and resources to make this tradition possible. Your support is a wonderful reminder of the strength of the NSL community.
