Vanderbilt Emergency Medical Society - VEMS Vanderbilt University student organization for those interested in emergency medicine and getting hands-on medical experience.

Vanderbilt Emergency Medical Society (VEMS) was founded in March 2007 by several Vanderbilt students with a passion for pre-hospital care. Today, VEMS has expanded to approximately 70 EMT-IVs and First Responders spanning each undergraduate class in addition to several graduate students and alumni. All of these members share an excitement for learning about medicine and a commitment to serving the

Nashville community through health care. Approximately once per academic year, VEMS runs one full First Responder course and one EMT-IV reciprocity program in order to train new members as health care providers. Furthermore, VEMS is excited to announce that it will be providing CPR/AED classes starting in Fall 2011. VEMS also conducts monthly Continuing Medical Education (CME) meetings to ensure members are up-to-date on all facets of their training.

Interested in Emergency Medicine?? Come learn about becoming a certified First Responder during our EMR course next semester!
For those of you that didn't receive an email, we are having our 2nd GBM next Wednesday evening at 6 pm in Commons 233. First year students are especially encouraged to attend.
