ABC students LaDonna Hereford and Brandon Wilson represented American Baptist College at the 27th Annual International Center for Responsible Gaming Conference on Gambling and Addiction, joining Human Services Faculty Chair Dr. Paulette O’Gilvie to present research on how faith leaders can recognize and respond to gambling-related harm. LaDonna and Brandon were among the few undergraduate presenters at the national conference, bringing a valuable faith-centered, Christian HBCU perspective to the conversation.

Both students received ICRG scholarships to support their participation, and Dr. O’Gilvie was honored with the Education and Mentor Award, recognizing her scholarship, mentorship, and commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for students.

This is experiential learning in action. This is ABC.

Last night, we gathered to celebrate the story, legacy, and enduring impact of American Baptist College.

Following the screening of Untold Stories. Unending Struggles. Unlimited Possibilities., director Josh Shaw shared reflections on bringing ABC’s history to the screen, while members of our student body represented the next generation continuing that story.

More than 100 years of history brought us to this moment, and the story is still being written.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for this special evening at the International Black Film Festival. 🎬
