Catch “Windows and Mirrors” the recent work from Zach Duensing currently installed in Gallery Two in the E. Bronson Ingram Studio Arts Center.

This work debuted during the May 2026 Arcade Arts second Saturday Art crawl - this new install offers a more traditional gallery experience viewing the works.

Duensing is a Nashville based multi-disciplinary artist and writer working inn sculpture and paintings. His work feels with the hyper-modernization of society and the further integration between technology and biology. It is often minimalist and influenced by futurism, brutalism, and science.

“Windows” is a series of miniature paintings cut from larger, failed paintings utilizing digital collages from the artist’s sketches and generated images exploring memory.

“Mirrors” is a series of robot-created one drawings on photo paper. Automated and chaotic, the abstract drawings are a visual representation of randomized code - allowing the viewer to project their own patterns and images upon - their reflection.

If you are finding yourself traveling this summer along HWY 20 near Rushville, Nebraska - take a moment to stop by the Armstrong House Museum and see “Archive of Land” and art installation by artist Karla Garcia.

This installation, a Sandhills Institute Project, takes root in the kitchen of the Armstrong House Museum in Rushville. Garcia writes, “A kitchen, like an aquifer, is a site of nourishment, labor, and connection. A place where knowledge passes between hands, where heritage is preserved in the gestures of daily life.”

The installation features ceramic grass reeds growing in an environment that is not expected - kitchen - among historic objects - transforming the interior space into a surreal prairie; echoing terrain of the Sandhills Institute and the environment Garcia grew up in.

“Archive of Land” opens July 10 and will be in view through September 27, 2026.

Between the Lines
Isaac Bevin Boakye

Isaac Bevin Boakye is a multidisciplinary artist from Ghana, currently pursuing Architecture and the Built Environment, and Art at Vanderbilt University. His practice explores how identity, culture, and memory can be expressed through spatial forms, engaging both contemporary and inherited visual languages.

Between the Lines is a mixed media installation that invites viewers into an immersive space exploring the concept of a borderless Africa. It combines a series of large posters interacting with light and sound to introduce fictional yet relatable characters existing in a geographic future that has yet to exist. The artist imagines the organizational structure of a borderless Africa as a porous system that allows shared culture and values to circulate, rather than the chaos often associated with it.
