It’s officially the season of GIVING and Top Notch Tau Nu needs your help! From November 1st to November 20th, we will be collecting ANY and ALL non-perishable donations! (ie: canned goods, noodles and rice, water, toothbrushes, toothpaste, feminine hygiene items, etc.) Donations can be dropped off to the box located in the Greek life office in the Beaman Student Life Center OR you can contact your favorite Tau Nu member and schedule a pick up! Following these 20 days, we will donate all items to a local shelter in the greater Nashville community! Let’s make an impact🗣

“Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”

🗣 IT’S THAT TIME OF THE MONTH AGAIN🗣 Welcome back for your monthly installment of Top Notch Tuesday! ❤️Top Notch Tuesday (TNT) is an initiative launched by the Tau Nu Chapter to recognize Sorors for all of their hard work and accomplishments. On Tuesdays, be on the look out to learn what these Devastating Divas are up to!❤️
Our April recipient is Soror Kynadi Echols! Soror Echols serves as the Vice President of the Tau Nu chapter, and is a junior Commercial Voice and Music Business major with a passion for music and is very active on campus. Her other roles include recruitment through admissions as a Bruin Recruiters and the Social Events Chair for the Black Student Association. Soror Echols has been singing and performing for most of her life. She has toured with Mosaic Youth Theatre of Detroit to Riga, Latvia for the World Choir Games, sang for Grammy Award winner, Tori Kelly at 49th GMA Dove Awards and most recently, sang for Ed Sheeran for the NBC special honoring Elvis Presley. With Soror Echols being so active academically and musically, one would think she would lack in one of those areas but being the TOP NOTCH woman she is, she has found a way to balance it all, never compromising who she is or giving less than 100%. The thing that keeps her going is the Bible verse, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” She believes that God has gifted her for a reason and “...He would never give me more than I can bear.”

We are back with our First 🔥 of 2019!! ❤️❤️TOP NOTCH TUESDAY (TNT) is an initiative launched by the Tau Nu Chapter to recognize Sorors for all of their hard work and accomplishments. On Tuesdays, be on the look out to learn what these Devastating Divas are up to!❤️❤️ Our March recipient is Soror Aijalon Carter, who currently serves as the President of the Tau Nu Chapter. Soror Carter is a sophomore majoring in nursing. She is a Nashville native who landed at Belmont after receiving the William R. Hearst Endowed Scholarship, a full ride scholarship received by only one freshman per year. During her time at Belmont so far, Soror Carter has maintained a 4.0 GPA, has served as a finance committee member for the Student Government Association, has served as a Bruin Recruiter with the office of admissions, and has been a member of the Student Nurses’ Association.
Soror Carter is passionate about medicine, mission work, and helping others. She serves as a regular senior volunteer with Project C.U.R.E. Nashville where they accept huge donations of medical supplies, sort and count them, repackage them, and send them out according to need to underserved areas around the globe. Next week, she will travel to Honduras for a medical mission trip, and we can’t wait to see what wonderful things she does! Her future career goals include becoming a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) and one day having the means to open her own medical clinic overseas!
Soror Carter never backs down from a challenge and prides herself on her ambition and drive to succeed. She says she constantly reminds herself of a quote from MUSC’s first black female anesthesiologist, Dr. Ebony Hilton, that says, “You can’t look at your situation for what it is, but what you envision it to be!” She gives God all the glory for what she’s accomplished thus far and says she’s certain that without Him, she wouldn’t be where she is today.
We are so proud of you and your accomplishments Soror Carter and know that this is only the beginning! We can’t wait to see all the big things you will go on to do! ✨❤️💃🏽

“When you take a stand...some of the things that come to you might not be your fault, but it’s still your FIGHT. It might not be your case, but now it’s your CAUSE!” Thank you so much to our Soror, the Bishop Vashti Murphy McKenzie, for being the keynote speaker at Belmont’s MLK Celebration Breakfast co-sponsored by the Tau Nu Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

It’s the first Tuesday of the month, so you know what that means!!!! Another 🔥 ❤️❤️TOP NOTCH TUESDAY (TNT) is an initiative launched by the Tau Nu Chapter to recognize Sorors for all of their hard work and accomplishments. On Tuesdays, be on the look out to learn what these Devastating Divas are up to!❤️❤️ This Tuesday, we are recognizing Soror Ameshia Forrest, a Top Notch TN member. Soror Forrest will graduate on December 14th with a Bachelor’s degree in political science and a minor in economics. She will also have completed Belmont’s Honors program.
During her time at Belmont, Soror Forrest received the Alumni Association Scholarship and Award and completed the State Legislative Internship Program. She also served previously as the Tau Nu President and served in the Student Government Association.
Soror Forrest has said time and time again that she’s “just a little girl from the projects who didn’t give up!” Her ability to bounce back from any and every obstacle, setback, and challenge she encounters is truly admirable. Even when she’s down, she keeps a smile on her face! “I’m becoming the woman God created me to be,” she says, and we can truly see her walking in her purpose unapologetically.
Soror Forrest is currently working tirelessly on taking the LSAT and applying to law schools. We know she’s going to succeed and fulfill every plan that God has set out for her life. We are so proud of you and your accomplishments Soror Forrest, and we know this is only the beginning. Keep Shining✨❤️💃🏽
