What is the purpose of Freemasonry? One of its most basic purposes is to make good men even better. We try to place an emphasis on the individual man by strengthening his character, improving his moral and spiritual outlook, and broadening his mental horizons. We try to impress upon the minds of our memb

ers the principles of personal responsibility and morality, encouraging each member to practice in his daily life the lessons taught through symbolic ceremonies within the lodge. One of the universal doctrines of Freemasonry is a belief in the “Brotherhood of Man and the Fatherhood of God”. The importance of this belief is reinforced by each Freemason as he practices the three principle tenets of this gentle craft: Brotherly Love, Relief and Truth, while promoting a way of life that binds like-minded men in a worldwide brotherhood transcending all religious, ethnic, cultural, social and educational differences. In The Farmers Almanac for 1823 published at Andover, Mass., the following was printed under the heading, Definition of a Freemason:

“The real Freemason is distinguished from the rest of Mankind by the uniform unrestrained rectitude of his conduct. Other men are honest in fear of punishment which the law might inflect they are religious in expectation of being rewarded, or in dread of the devil, in the next world. A Freemason would be just if there were no laws, human or divine except those written in his heart by the finger of his Creator. In every climate, under every system of religion, he is the same. He kneels before the Universal Throne of God in gratitude for the blessings he has received and humble solicitation for his future protection. He venerates the good men of all religions. He disturbs not the religion of others. He restrains his passions, because they cannot be indulged without injuring his neighbor or himself. He gives no offense, because he does not choose to be offended. He contracts no debts which he is certain he cannot discharge, because he is honest upon principal.”

This week at Twin Cities, we had the privilege of seeing our District Deputy once again, man he must love driving to Neenah, to visit us and deliver the new AED for our Lodge! He also took the chance to present Waverly 51 with their AED, and their Worshipful Master, Ethan, is in the center to receive theirs. We also took a chance to help a local pop up supply area in Menasha and purchased various sizes of batteries and baby products to donate. The folks were very happy to see how we could help them out, especially with the batteries for lights and fans!

It’s very heart warming to help out the community when we are able to. Our Lodge may not be the biggest in the state, but our thoughts and hearts are when we are able to help those who need it! We’re proud to be Freemasons, especially Wisconsin Freemasons!

Here is news for tomorrow for those in the affected area.

INFORMATION FOR SUNDAY AUGUST 2nd.
Storm-damaged debris removal and household garbage pick up will continue on Sunday August 2nd, 2026.

🩷The map with PINK-highlighted areas is for DEBRIS REMOVAL.

💚The map with GREEN-highlighted areas is for GARBAGE PICK UP.

🌳Starting tomorrow, Sunday, August 2, 2026, at 6:00 a.m., residents should have their vehicles moved out of the pink-highlighted designated areas for street crews to safely access brush and tree debris piles.

As the brush is collected, the streets that crews are ACTIVELY working on will be TEMPORARILY CLOSED and will reopen as soon as the collection is completed.

If vehicles remain on a street, crews will not have access to the debris, and it will not be collected.

Also on Sunday, August 2, 2026, volunteers will continue to go throughout both the green- and pink-highlighted areas to help residents move storm debris and bagged household garbage from yards or porches to the curb in preparation for Sunday collection.

🚫Volunteers will not enter homes

✅Volunteers will have garbage bags to distribute

🗑On Sunday, August 2, 2026, plastic garbage-bagged storm-damaged household garbage will be collected from curbs. Residents in the green-highlighted areas are asked to remove vehicles off the street by 6:00 a.m. to allow collection crews to work efficiently.

Collection is intended for:

- water-damaged belongings

- spoiled food

- diapers

- everyday household garbage.

Great job today from all of the brothers and family that showed up to help with traffic control at the volunteer center in Menasha. After we signed in, we were deployed right away and spread out, so no group shot was taken, but we had 11 people that worked helping direct the flow for donations, picking up supplies, and volunteers. It was great to help with the efforts! We had representatives from Waverly #51, Twin Cities #61, Appleton #349, as well as our District Deputy who is from Sheboygan #11.

Beginning at 6:00 AM on Friday, July 31, City crews and assisting agencies will continue large-scale storm debris removal on Doty Island.
One organized cleanup operation will begin near Pine Street and work east through Nassau Street and Oak Street. A second operation will work along Park Street.

There will be no parking on these streets after 6:00 AM.

Residents should move vehicles before cleanup begins. Law enforcement will assist with road closures at: Nicolet Boulevard and Ahnaip Street for the Pine, Nassau, and Oak Street cleanup area/ Keyes Street and Nicolet Boulevard for the Park Street cleanup area.

Residents will not be allowed to drive on the closed streets while cleanup is underway.

Large commercial trucks and heavy equipment will be operating throughout the area.

Please follow all barricades and directions from law enforcement and work crews.

The City of Menasha understands the hardship, stress, and disruption our residents continue to face as recovery work moves forward. We are incredibly proud of the neighbors, volunteers, businesses, public safety personnel, utility crews, and public works teams who have stepped up to support one another. Menasha is a strong and resilient community, and by continuing to work together, we will recover from this storm and come through it even stronger.
