Well, all good things must come to an end…Canada Field School is no exception and it is bittersweet.

Our students rose to the occasion and finished strong. They completed their small mammal and unexpected not so small mammal surveys, forest plots, and landscape ecology projects.

The culmination of this international field research work was concluded with a final community presentation.

We couldn’t be more proud of this group as they presented their findings in such a concise and professional manner. In addition, they answered multiple questions from the audience regarding their research and ecological management practices with poise and confidence!!!

Thank you again to the Halliburton team for their hospitality, support, and encouragement along the way! We are grateful for them allowing us to provide this amazing opportunity to our students.

Canada Field School is in full swing! Thank you to Haliburton Forest for allowing us the opportunity to provide our students with this international field research program.

So far students have been conducting fisheries surveys, stream assessments, wildlife surveys, phenology site observations, plant & tree identification, with forest plots tomorrow!

For those alumni of the field school, the brook trout were from No Name Lake.

We look forward to the continued work and final presentation of their findings at the end of the trip.
