Honoring the Heroes and Remembering the Fallen 🇺🇸

On September 10, students from the Hocking College Police Academy and Fire Program participated in a stair climb honoring the victims, survivors, and first responders of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. Together, the students climbed the equivalent of 75 flights of stairs, totaling more than 5,250 steps.

On Friday morning, Public Safety students and staff joined other members of the Hocking College community in front of the Public Safety building for a remembrance ceremony. The gathering provided an opportunity to reflect, honor the lives lost, recognize the survivors, and remember the courage and sacrifice of the first responders.

We will never forget.

We want to congratulate everyone involved in this incredible story. It is a prime example of early CPR by trained people can save lives. We also want to mention that one of our Paramedic students, Joseph Innocenti-Travis (First on the Left)was with the paramedics that day as part of his clinical assignment. Melanie Bushby a Firefighter/Paramedic and one of our instructors was on the run.
