It’s Transfer Tuesday!

Through Transfer Tuesday, we’re highlighting the colleges and universities where Hocking College graduates continue their education and build on the foundation they started here.

This week, we’re featuring the University of Cincinnati. After completing their associate degree at Hocking College, students can transfer to UC and spend approximately two more years working toward a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and Human Services or Early Childhood Education.

We’re proud to see Hocking graduates take their hands-on education with them as they continue working toward their goals at the University of Cincinnati.

Manufacturing Day was celebrated on October 2, but in Ohio, the celebration continues throughout the entire month!

Manufacturing Day gives students a closer look at modern manufacturing and the careers available in the industry. In Ohio, manufacturing generated $137.9 billion for the state’s economy in 2024 and provides more than 687,000 jobs.

The opportunities continue to grow. Ohio manufacturers need approximately 35,000 new entry-level operators and mid-level technicians each year, creating a strong demand for people with the right skills.

In Hocking College’s Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering Technologies program, you’ll gain hands-on experience with robotics programming, automation, industrial design and the technology used in today’s manufacturing facilities.

Could a career in manufacturing be right for you?

World Mental Health Day was Oct. 10, but checking in on your mental health matters every day.

Mental health affects everyone, and struggling does not always look the same from one person to another. College can bring exciting opportunities, but it can also come with stress, uncertainty, and moments when things feel overwhelming. Taking time to check in with yourself, reach out to someone you trust, or ask for support can make a difference.

Hocking College students have access to counseling, referrals, and other services through the Hawks Center for Well-Being. You do not have to navigate difficult moments alone.

Take your education to new heights at Hocking College!

Our Introduction to Unmanned Aerial Systems course prepares students for the FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certification Exam, while providing hands-on experience in drone flight and cinematic aerial videography. Students will also build a professional portfolio showcasing their piloting and photography skills.

This course is especially valuable for students interested in forestry, wildlife management, conservation law enforcement, emergency response, public safety and other various industry segments, as drones are becoming an increasingly common tool for careers in these areas.
