Horsepower in the Hills brings car and truck enthusiasts together to celebrate automotive culture, craftsmanship, and performance. From classic builds and modern muscle to lifted trucks and daily drivers, there will be something for everyone to enjoy.

The event also supports the Hocking College Auto Tech Club, giving students opportunities to build their skills, gain hands-on experience, and connect with the local automotive community.

Join us Saturday, Oct. 3, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Hocking College Equine Arena. Come support our students, meet fellow automotive enthusiasts, and enjoy the show!

Hocking Student catches national recognition!

We are proud to announce that one of our students, Gavin McCaulley, has been named a 2026 Chime Workforce Scholar.

Gavin is one of 200 students nationwide recognized for academic achievement and the pursuit of career-focused education. He will receive a $1,000 scholarship from the Chime Scholars Foundation to help cover educational expenses as he prepares to enter the workforce in a high-demand field.

Administered by the Phi Theta Kappa Foundation, the scholarship program supports students pursuing career and technical education at two-year colleges.

Congratulations, Gavin, on this well-deserved achievement!

Hawk pride was on full display at the Parade of the Hills!

Hocking College students joined the annual celebration in Nelsonville, marching through the community and representing Hocking alongside the college float.

Hocking College was proud to join the Nelsonville community for this year’s Parade of the Hills!

Our students took part in the parade alongside the Hocking College float, showing their Hawk pride and celebrating one of the community’s favorite traditions.

It was a great opportunity to come together with our neighbors, connect with the community, and be part of a tradition that brings so many people to Nelsonville each year.

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine and the Ohio Department of Transportation have announced nearly $52 million in grants to improve bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure across the state.

The funding will support 44 projects in 33 counties over four years, including improvements to sidewalks, crosswalks, bike lanes, and recreational trails. These projects will help improve safety, expand transportation options, and strengthen connections within Ohio communities.

These projects will expand transportation options and help make the broader Hocking College community safer, healthier and more connected.
