Future dance and physical educators in action! 💙

Today in DAN 110: Introduction to Dance Education, students led mini lessons, guiding their classmates through movement and putting their teaching ideas into practice. Each lesson was an opportunity to practice clear instruction, explore creativity, and learn from one another.

Proud to see our students developing their confidence and finding their voices as educators! 👏

A little look inside the studio ✨

Our dancers continue building technique, artistry, and confidence through focused training at the barre. Each class is an opportunity to strengthen foundational skills, deepen musicality, and continue growing as thoughtful, versatile dance artists and educators.

We love seeing the energy, curiosity, and community happening in the Dance Education Center every week. 💙

Congratulations to Professor Catherine Fellows, Professor Emerita at Central Connecticut State University, on winning first place in ballroom competition!

Professor Fellows is the founder of Central’s Dance Program, and we are especially excited to have her return this year as a consultant to the Dance Education Program, continuing to share her experience, knowledge, and passion with our students and community.

We’re excited to introduce the Coordinators of the 13th Annual Central Dance Festival, Olivia Carlson and Tiana Boccuzzi! 💙✨

Both Olivia and Tiana are proud Central Connecticut State University alumni whose experiences at CCSU helped shape their continued work in dance, education, leadership, and community engagement.

Olivia Carlson earned her B.S. in Dance Education with a specialization in Entrepreneurship and was the first CCSU student to graduate with that specialization. Now based in Los Angeles, Olivia continues her professional journey as a dancer, model, educator, entrepreneur, and nonprofit founder.

Tiana Boccuzzi, a 2023 CCSU alumna, has remained deeply connected to the dance community through teaching, choreography, leadership, and service. During her time at Central, she served in multiple leadership roles with Dancentral, including President, and received the Carol Ciotto Leadership in Dance Award.

We are thrilled to have these two accomplished alumni returning to Central to help coordinate this year’s festival and create an exciting experience for the next generation of dancers! 🩰🔥
