Ever wonder what goes on ?

Today we are highlighting Sam Agtarap, who joined the Institute for Women’s Leadership as a Program Assistant for the Leadership Scholars Program after earning her M.A. in United Nations and Global Policy Studies from Rutgers University.

Today marks Sam's final day with the Institute for Women’s Leadership after nearly two years. During her time at IWL, she played an invaluable role in supporting Program Director Sasha Taner with Scholar recruitment, advising, and program operations. She contributed to a variety of exciting initiatives that enhanced the program experience and strengthened support for our Scholars.

While we are sad to see Sam go, we are incredibly grateful for her many contributions to our organization and all she has done to support the Leadership Scholars Program. We look forward to seeing the positive impact she will make in her next chapter.

Last weekend, Dr. Roxane Gay, the Gloria Steinem Chair in Media, Culture and Feminist Studies at Rutgers University, hosted “Belonging: A Black Writers' Convening.”

This powerful gathering brought together writers across genres and career stages for thoughtful, curated conversations on entering, navigating, and finding success in the publishing industry. Throughout the day, attendees connected with one another, engaging in mentorship and community.

The program featured five candid panels with industry experts, as well as drop-in AMA sessions with published authors.
