We are looking forward to welcoming Dr. Diane Barger for a Zoom presentation this Friday, Nov. 18 from 2-3 pm, exploring the life and legacy of the iconic orchestral clarinetist, conductor, and pedagogue, Robert Marcellus (1928-1996). She will share a timeline of his career highlights, discussion of his pedagogical concepts, focusing on the use of air, embouchure, articulation, and finger technique, and play numerous audio examples of his time performing as principal clarinet in the Cleveland Orchestra. Many of our students are great-grand-students of Marcellus, and this will be a fascinating chance to learn more about this musical lineage.
