Join us in congratulating CHHS student Stephanie Allis on being named a recipient of the Henry Barnard Distinguished Student Award! 🎉

A first-generation college student, mother of six, and Social Work and Sociology double major, Stephanie’s journey is a powerful example of resilience, dedication, and service. Through academic excellence and meaningful community involvement, she continues to advocate for and support others—both on campus and beyond. 🦉

“In my experience, her work at the undergraduate level is of a higher quality than most graduate students I have had over 30 years of teaching,” wrote Social Work Professor Stephen Monroe Tomczak, adding that “she has an unusual dedication and commitment to the values and ethics of the profession… by ‘walking the walk’ through community involvement.”

We are so proud of Stephanie and all she has accomplished. We can’t wait to see the impact she will make as she continues her journey to advocate for foster children and families. 💙
