Congratulations to Jahkeeva Morgan ’22 on being named to the Hartford Business Journal’s 2026 40 Under Forty class! 💙

As Vice President of Business Incubation and Entrepreneurship at The Lab at ConnCORP, Jahkeeva is helping entrepreneurs and small businesses grow while advancing economic mobility through entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and community development. From launching an entrepreneurship academy that has supported more than 80 entrepreneurs and students, to helping lead a $4 million expansion of The Lab, Jahkeeva is making a meaningful impact across Connecticut. 🦉

Congratulations to Dr. Maria Krol on being named a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing as part of the distinguished Class of 2026! 🩺

This prestigious honor recognizes nurse leaders whose work has made a lasting impact on healthcare, nursing education, research, and policy. Throughout her 14 years at Southern, Dr. Krol has been a champion for nursing education, workforce development, experiential learning, and student success. She has helped secure more than $6 million in grant funding, expanding academic opportunities, and advancing initiatives that improve access to nursing education.

Last week, the College of Health and Human Services School of Nursing welcomed local high school students to campus for the Summer Nursing Symposium. Through hands-on skill sessions, simulation experiences, conversations with healthcare professionals, and college readiness activities, students explored what it means to pursue a career in nursing while gaining valuable insight into the profession. The symposium, held in partnership with Yale New Haven Health, is helping build the future of healthcare. 🦉
