“The Doctor of Physical Therapy program is an important investment in Nevada’s health care workforce and in the communities that depend on access to these services,” said Muge Akpinar-Elci, M.D., MPH, dean of the University of Nevada, Reno, School of Public Health, in a school news release. “By educating future physical therapists here in Northern Nevada, we can help create pathways for students to build their careers in our state and expand access to care in communities where the need is greatest.”
Applications are being accepted through Nov. 1 and forty will be selected for the three-year program’s inaugural class.
When the first class arrives in 2027, students will step into a dedicated home for physical therapy education at the John Iliescu, M.D. Physical Therapy Building at 634 Ryland St. in Reno.
