Our optimal size, inclusive community, and culture of cross-disciplinary collaboration connects students, world class faculty, and ideas from virtually every field — within our school, across Yale University, and beyond academia — to create innovative solutions to the world’s public health challenges. MPH students can add interdisciplinary concentrations such as Global Health, Public Health Modeling, Climate Change and Health, and U.S. Health Justice. Founded by students in 1886, Dwight Hall nurtures and inspires students to be leaders of social change and to advance justice and service in New Haven and around the world.

This week, scholars, students, and thought leaders from the Yale community are engaging with partners from across the region, the U.S., and the world to explore solutions to the climate crisis during the third annual Yale @ Climate Week NYC event.

“The event highlights Yale’s extraordinary breadth of expertise while creating opportunities for collaboration across sectors,” Yale School of Public Health's Dean Megan Ranney said. “Those connections are critical to translating research into action and accelerating solutions that protect both human and planetary health.”

Yale School of Public Health’s Dr. Anne Zink, MD, and Dean Megan Ranney took the main stage at the Clinton Global Initiative yesterday to share how PopHIVE is making health data accessible to all.

Alongside partners, they launched a commitment to action to grow PopHIVE, which is incorporating 1,000s of new data elements and dozens of new data sources to become a trusted source that empowers policymakers, communities, and people across the country.

The CDC recently reported that they have received 17% more rabies-related inquiries this July–August than during the same period last year.

Rabies is almost always fatal once symptoms start, but it’s highly preventable. Avoid contact with wild animals, and if you think you may have been exposed, seek medical care right away.
