In BELFAST, MAINE, Frederick Wiseman turns his camera on a coastal town caught between its industrial past and an uncertain future, showing us what economic change looks, sounds, and feels like as it transforms the texture of daily life. “An immensely rich and immeasurably valuable microcosm of American life at the end of the twentieth century” (Stuart Klawans).

We're pleased to announce a National Film Preservation Foundation grant to preserve SET-UP, a 1971 film by Nick Doob, a Yale graduate who sadly died in June. This will be the sixth of Doob’s films preserved by the Yale Film Archive. Image: a still of Donald Horner from SET-UP.

This most recent national award—the Film Archive’s 16th—will support the preservation of Nick Doob’s 1971 film, “Set-Up.”
