A photo from when I first met Lucy Gellman at Arts Council of Greater New Haven. I was volunteering to teach printmaking to students in the IRIS summer learning program. The whole experience was truly a gift and meeting Lucy was icing on the cake! Good luck embarking on this new adventure at the Mirror, Lucy! Thank you for all that you do for our community!!

September 20, 1946 the day my mom was born! This past year my mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s after several years with MCI. If you are so inclined, in honor of my mom’s 80th birthday and her life with Alzheimer’s, please consider donating to my team for the Alzheimer’s Walk on September 27. http://act.alz.org/goto/McKoehlers

I am endlessly grateful for every moment that I have with her. Her 80th birthday is a celebration of life. And she lives life!

I am heartbroken to see the photos and hear the news about the Lighthouse Point park carousel. Just 3 weeks ago my The Eli Whitney Museum campers and I were welcomed by their staff and given an incredible behind-the-scenes tour. Engineers worked hard to get the carousel up and running so the campers could go for a ride. We learned about the immense work and $$$ that goes into keeping a 100+ year old carousel running each year. My heart aches for them, knowing that this is going to be an incredible challenge and huge cost. This place is a treasure and I will be supporting their efforts to rebuild.

A wild and wonderful night with Zénon 👽🆒 performing his original piece, Sandcastle. The pre-show crafting got our creativity flowing! Our apocalyptic costumes made of recycled materials were out of this world! 🪐💫☄️
