I am heartbroken to see the photos and hear the news about the Lighthouse Point park carousel. Just 3 weeks ago my The Eli Whitney Museum campers and I were welcomed by their staff and given an incredible behind-the-scenes tour. Engineers worked hard to get the carousel up and running so the campers could go for a ride. We learned about the immense work and $$$ that goes into keeping a 100+ year old carousel running each year. My heart aches for them, knowing that this is going to be an incredible challenge and huge cost. This place is a treasure and I will be supporting their efforts to rebuild.
