Today, the Class of 2030 walks through a piece of Southern Connecticut State University history. 🦉🎉

Following New Student Convocation, our newest Owls will pass through Founder’s Gate — a tradition marking the official beginning of their journey at Southern.

The historic gate once stood at Southern’s early campus on Howe Street before being restored and relocated to its current home between Lyman Center and Engleman Hall in 1977.

John Searles ’91 took his latest book to the TODAY Show! 📚☀️

The bestselling author recently celebrated the release of his new novel, Single Girls, while also sharing some of his top summer reading recommendations.

Searles received an honorary doctorate from Southern Connecticut State University in 2015.
