Roots. Rhythm. Real Ones.

On Sunday, August 30, we’re bringing the Divine Nine AND our extended community together for something we don’t do enough of — gather.

No frills, no gatekeeping. Bring your own food, your grill, and your people. We’ll have the vibes covered: DJ Herman Ham on the 1s and 2s, games, and good old fashioned fun.

Plus, dessert vendors will be on-site with sno cones, popcorn, cupcakes, puddings, cookies, and more. Sweet tooth? We got you. And yes, it’s completely FREE.

Thank you for your visionary leadership, unwavering commitment, and faithful service to the North Atlantic Region. Over the past four years, you have led with grace, integrity, and excellence, inspiring sorors across the region while strengthening the bonds of our beloved sisterhood. 
 
As your chapter, we are especially proud to celebrate your remarkable leadership and the legacy you leave behind. Through the F.I.R.S.T. Planting trees today to create healthier, cooler, and more resilient communities tomorrow.

Join the Theta Epsilon Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. ® for our annual tree planting program, held in partnership with the Delta Iota Sigma Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. ®. This year’s theme, Roots of Resilience, highlights how expanding tree canopy can improve air quality, reduce extreme heat, and support healthier communities across Greater New Haven.

In addition to planting trees, attendees will participate in a brief educational presentation on how tree equity, air quality, and green space impact public health outcomes in our communities.

Water, light refreshments, and gardening tools will be provided. Participants are encouraged to bring reusable water bottles and, if available, personal gardening tools.

This event is open to the public, and we welcome community members of all ages to join us!
