The Walter Commons for Global Study and Engagement The Otto and Fran Walter Commons for Global Study and Engagement is a vibrant hub for global learning at Connecticut College.

The office of Global Initiatives works with faculty, staff and students to coordinate and support global and internationally focused initiatives and institutional partnerships at Connecticut College. The Spring 2027 Study Away application is now open!!

The deadline to apply for Spring 2027 study away is April 7, 2026. It is your responsibility to be aware of the deadlines of the programs you are seeking permission to apply to as some may have earlier ones than the College. The Director of Study Away, Shirley Parson, will work with you on how to proceed.

Please note, students must have a declared major to apply. Be sure to consult with the Office of Study Away and your major adviser as you are reviewing the programs. You will need to share your rationale with your faculty recommender, which should be your major adviser. Be sure to give them as much advance time as possible in order to submit your recommendation by the deadline. Please note the minimum overall GPA requirement is 3.0.
